Lucille: A sassy patient outreach chatbot.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Abilities Hackathon hosted at the Digital Harbor Foundation makerspace in Federal Hill, Baltimore.

It was the perfect opportunity to channel my frustration with subjective patient data capture into something worthwhile.

A small, proof-of-concept demo that could be completed in a weekend. A hackathon project.

The idea of Lucille was hazily born.

A sassy, evidence-based chatbot that assists care managers and clinicians by reaching out to 100s and 1,000s of patients at the same time using conversational, age-appropriate English/Spanish SMS text messages.

Unobtrusive, casual, and private. What better way to capture data?
